Novice cigar smoker faces a dizzying variety of cigars to choose from. Cigars are often grouped according to the country of origin and the fillers. In addition, they are also classified by their shapes and sizes. The most common cigars types include:

Parejo

Parejo is a well-known cigar shape. Parejo cigar has one open end. Its body is usually straight and cylindrical. The closed end of the cigar consists of a round tobacco leaf cover which smoker must slice off with a cutter prior to smoking it. Listed here are cigars that are in parejo shape:

  • Robusto: A 4 7/8 inches cigar with ring gauge of 50.
  • Corona: A 5 1/2 inches cigar with ring gauge of 42.
    • Petite Corona: A 5 1/2 inches cigar with ring gauge of 42.

Figurado

Irregularly shaped cigars are often known as figurado. They are hard to make. They are not as common as parejos. Figurados include:

  • Torpedo: It has straight and cylindrical body. The cap of the cigar is pointed.
  • Pyramid: It’s got broader foot. The body is consistently narrow to the cap.
  • Perfecto: The cigar comes with narrow ends. The center part of the cigar is bulging.
  • Presidente/Diadema: It has closed foot. The shape of this cigar is similar to parejob. Nonetheless the size of this cigar is larger.
  • Culebras: Three pointed cigars are tied together to form a large cigar.

Some Arturo fuente cigars made by Arturo Fuente, a large cigar manufacturer situated in the Dominican Republic, are figurados in exotic.

Little cigars

There are smaller size of cigars that look like cigarettes or even electronic cigarettes. They are very different from regular cigars. These cigar can be referred to as little cigars, small cigars or miniatures cigars.
